Final Major Project!!

So now its the ultimate scary moment of university! The final major project
For fashion design a final major project gives you freedom to research any area of inspiration you choose and you have to create a 6 outfits capsule collection to go along side your research.

SO for my research i began looking at prostitution for my pre-collection, which originally came from watching the documentary 'Streetwise' about homeless teenagers. The main girl in the documentary was 'Tiny', her casual attitude to an adult world of sex and violence lead me to research into your girls attitudes to sex and how its effects the way they grow up.

So my research took me to compare young girls in the 1970's and young girls in the 21st century.
To investigate the loss of innocence in young girls in the 21st century.
Sexual advertising and imagery on t.v and the internet influences girls at such a young age in 2011, with many girls now aspiring to be a glamour model rather than a doctor or nurse.

The style of the collection is 1970's silhouettes mixed with sheer and sexy fabrics in innocent and pure colours like whites and nudes.

This is an advertisement for american apparel aimed at young women.
